Chances are by now you’ve heard about moringa because it’s being celebrated by health and wellness experts as the new superfood – but this wonder plant isn’t limited to food only and it’s been on my radar for quite some time.
In fact, moringa is a top ingredient in my “power pack” of antioxidants in the Steam Scalp Oil #1, the first product I ever created and the one product that started it all.
While there are many incredible properties of this plant-like tree, moringa stood out to me especially because it supports the scalp and hair nutritionally.
Why Moringa is So Amazing
There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to this super plant because it has over 90 nutrients! Here are just a few of the most incredible facts:
Moringa as Nutrition
Moringa grows in Africa, Asia, India, Sri Lanka and other sub-tropical climates. It’s regularly used in daily recipes and eaten raw often in salads.
And that’s because moringa has:
•12 times the amount of Vitamin C of oranges
•10 times the amount of Vitamin A as carrots
•9 times the amount of protein of yogurt
•17 times the calcium of milk
•15 times the potassium of a banana
•25 times the iron of spinach
Moringa for Beauty
While the entire plant is used for food and nutrition, it’s the seed of the moringa from which we extract the oil for use in beauty products and nutritional supplements.
I use moringa as a key ingredient in the Steam Scalp Oil because its antioxidant benefits will help prevent dry scalp by stimulating circulation, increasing blood flow to the head and feeding the hair follicles with nutrition to produce healthy hair.
Moringa is used in food and beverages for nutrition, medicines and tinctures for health, and creams and salves for beauty.
Because it is so nutritious, humanitarian organizations are using moringa to combat world hunger. And incredibly, moringa seeds are used to purify water in villages throughout Africa where there is drought and little access to clean water.
Best of all, there have been no known recorded adverse reactions to moringa and it has no known impurities.
Soon we’ll be seeing moringa on shelves in health food stores and apothecaries everywhere but I invite you to experience it here first with the Steam Scalp Oil #1.
Here’s to good health and beauty,
