There's nothing like soaking in a bath after a long day. Whether you need to relax, unwind, or just take some time for yourself, we love having an herbal detox bath for many reasons.
When you're taking a warm bath, the pores of your skin naturally open and absorb whatever is in the water you're soaking in. Which is why it's so important to add some epsom and/or himalayan pink salt along with healing herbs such as lavender and rose into the water.
Epsom salts are actually not salt at all but a compound of magnesium and sulfate which work together to draw out toxins from your pores. The magnesium and sulfate also soak in the skin and helps to level out the magnesium and sulfate levels in your body. Magnesium is a great mineral for regulating calcium and potassium absorption, improving mental clarity and fatigue, as well as relieving muscle aches. Sulfate is essential for production of collagen. Himalayan pink salt contains both magnesium and sulfate but also 82 other minerals and trace elements.
Add dried or fresh rose petals, dried lavender, chamomile and other herbs to your bath for a floral experience. Experiment with adding milk or honey and essential oils for an even bigger boost of fragrance and skin soothing properties. After your bath, dry off with a soft towel and rub some Steam Body Serum made with rosehips and jojoba oil to seal in all that goodness.
