CRYSTALS

Story and Photography by

BENNET PEREZ

When we spoke
The words turned to crystals
Big enough to  t in your mouth
And crack your teeth
If you tried to bite down
What if there was no other way to understand Scholars would all be teethless
It would be mashed potatoes
For them
We just sat and talked and ate handfuls of almonds
